Local Government (Union Parishad) Ordinance, 1983 30, 31, 32, Section 33 mentions the functions of the Union Parishad. These functions are basically; Divided into 5 parts.
E.g .:
i. Municipal functions,
ii. Police onirapattata,
iii. Revenue administration,
iv. Development poverty Removal and
v. Judgment.
(1) Municipal Functions: Local Government (Union Parishad) Ordinance, 1983
Section 30 describes Perry's activities. Payor's activities are divided into two parts.
Namely: Compulsory and optional functions.
1. Mandatory Functions:
* To maintain law and order and assist the administration in this regard.
* To take various measures to curb crime, disorder and smuggling.
* Agriculture, tree planting, animal husbandry, health, cottage industries, irrigation communication;
* Expanding family planning activities;
* Develop local resources;
* Public property such as roads, bridges, culverts, dams, canals, telephones, electricity Save etc.
* To review the development activities of other organizations at the union level and if necessary
To make recommendations in this regard to the Upazila Nirbahi Officer;
* Encourage people to use hygienic toilets;
* Register births, deaths, blind, beggars;
* Conduct all kinds of censuses;
2. Optional Functions: Local Government (Union Parishad) Ordinance, 1973
Optional functions are mentioned in the first volume of the first schedule.
Maintenance of Janpath Orajpath system;
Maintenance of public places, open spaces, gardens and playgrounds;
Lighting of highways, highways, public places;
Planting and conservation of trees in general and roads and highways in particular
Planting and conservation in places; Cemeteries, crematoriums, public meeting places, control of public weights
Property maintenance management;
Accommodation and protection of tourists;
Control of highways, highways, and public places to prevent unauthorized entry;
Supervision of rivers, forests etc. for the cleanliness of the Union

Establishment of first aid centers;
Doing business of building libraries and libraries;
Collaborate with union councils and other organizations;
The Union Parishad has been entrusted with the responsibility of social, economic and developmental work under the Municipal Development Task Force. These responsibilities are divided into 4 parts. E.g .:
(A) Communication
(B) education, agriculture, health and family welfare;
(C) drinking water supply;
(D) Culture and social welfare.
(2) Police and Security: Improving the law and order situation in the country and consolidating security.
The village defense team has been formed in every village as per the instructions of the government.
The main objectives of forming a village defense team are:
(A) to form public opinion against those who are engaged in anti-state activities and armed miscreants;
(B) assist in the recovery of illegal weapons;
(C) Participate in night patrols and local village-police patrols if necessary;
3) Revenue Administration:
(A) to assist in the administration of revenue;
(B) shall assist the Revenue Officer and the General Administration in the collection of revenue or land development tax.
Management of revenue and administration of the union as per the instructions of the deputy commissioner, records of revenue collection and
Assist in preparation of assessment list, survey or crop inspection;
(B) inform the police if any crime is organized;
(C) Appropriate in case of illegal occupation of roads, roads or public places or damage to buildings or property
Will report to the authorities;
(4) Development and Poverty Alleviation:
Union Parishad is the focal point of village development. The development of the agro-industrial industry and the expansion of the cooperative movement
And the Union Parishad may adopt development plans to increase forest resource resources.
The following information should be recorded in the development plan:
(A) targets in different sectors;
(B) specific projects of the plan;
(C) what kind of staff will be required and whether any assistance from the Government will be required in this regard;
(5) Judgment:
Most of the poor people in our country live in villages. Going to the city on behalf of the poor masses
It is very difficult to prosecute for a long time. So Omokaddama is the solution to their disputes
Disposal and embarrassment The government initially seeks justice in rural areas to get rid of OA-related costs
The responsibility of the system has been entrusted to the Union Parishad.
